ROCK FALLS – Two Rock Falls men were in Whiteside County Jail on Friday in connection with a string of vandalism attacks that has plagued Rock Falls, most notably Centennial Park, since the summer.

Cameron Keefer, 23, and Cordell Kiersey, 18, were arrested Thursday by Rock Falls Police after an anonymous tip, Rock Falls Commander Tammy Nelson said.

Nelson said the two men had admitted to the vandalism attacks as well as to other crimes, and that more arrests are forthcoming. She estimated the damage will cost the city thousands of dollars.

Nelson said that during interviews, Keefer and Kiersey indicated that they damaged the properties “just for fun” and because they had “nothing else to do.”

Keefer is charged with six counts of criminal damage to government supported property, and Kiersey is charged with five counts of the same offense.

Keefer’s bond is set at $50,000; Kiersy’s is $25,000.
