Prophetstown Main Street and the people of Prophetstown want to thank the Latin American Social Club for organizing the fundraiser at its club on Sept. 30. What a wonderful thing to do for your neighbor. All proceeds went to the Rebuilding of Prophetstown Strong Fund.
The club raised approximately $3,400 for us. A thank you, also, to our volunteers from Prophetstown Main Street, Dan and Barb Drummet, Darrel and Diane Millsap, Larry and Joann Frederick, Sharon Lindahl, Betty Reichard, Don Weisenberger and Darla Corbin who helped take donations and any way they could. This was much appreciated.
A special thank you to Shelly Riesselman and Sergio Sotelo for all the work of organizing and lining up the bands; the kiddie “caterpillar ride” donated by Ron George; and the “Funky, Munky Wrestlers;” and the help with the 50/50, the silent auction that both Sterling and Rock Falls donated to, as well as Prophetstown individuals and businesses. Many of the 50/50 winners donated their winnings back to Prophetstown as well. Thank you for this kind gesture; we, in Prophetstown, appreciate it.
Again, the bands who played to entertain the crowd for no fee, the kitchen help, who cooked all day, who donated $50 to the rebuilding fund, the people of Rock Falls, Sterling and Prophetstown who came, bid on the silent auction, ate, and stayed for most of the afternoon, thank you so very much. Prophetstown thanks you.
