On Sept. 27, the Caring Center conducted its third annual fun fundraiser with music by the Main Avenue Jazz Band at the Sterling Moose Family Center. Thanks to our community partners, the Pete Harkness Auto Group, Sterling Kiwanis Club and the Woman’s Fellowship of First Congregational Church, Rock Falls, all costs were provided for making the event successful.

Thanks to my co-chairman, Dave Murray, the Sterling Moose Lodge, Shell Stations’ Art Johnson, and the following businesses that contributed items for our silent auction: Accents in the mall, Air Play Sports, Arnie’s Happy Spot, Boss Carpet One, CGH Medical Center, Candlelight Restaurants, Clover Hill Appliances, Culver’s, Deer Valley Golf Club, Farm and Fleet, Hardee’s, Halo Brand Solutions, Betty Huntley, Teri Nusbaum at Image Makers, Tom Wold at Edward Jones, Knie Appliances and TV, Maple Pancake House, Hugh Miller Insurance, Prescott Grills, Rock River Golf and Pool, Select Employees Credit Union, Sterling Chevrolet, Sterling Federal Bank, Sterling Red Apple, Subway, Tuff Dog Bakery, Wahl Clipper, Dixon Walmart, Sterling Walmart, and Amy Clark at The Spa.

Thanks to all who bought tickets.

Reader Poll

Rock Falls is considering a ban on leaf burning. Should the city finally take that step?
Yes. Sterling and Dixon have had bans for years. It’s time for Rock Falls to impose a ban.
No. It would be too great a burden for homeowners to dispose of fallen leaves in other ways.
