MORRISON – Registrations and donations are being accepted for Morrison’s 26th annual Christmas walk Dec. 6 and 7.

This year’s theme is “A Star Spangled Christmas.” Businesses may give promotional items through four levels of contribution. Each level includes the donor’s name in the Christmas Walk brochure and posters, with additional mention for larger donations.

The levels are Frosty’s Friend, less than $50; Mistletoe, $50 to $149, including the business’ name listed on the Morrison Chamber of Commerce website’s Christmas Walk page and Facebook; Christmas Angel, $150 to $299, with the addition of the business name or logo featured in print media advertising materials; and Ultimate Santa, $300 or more, with the addition of the name to be mentioned on radio and parade announcements.

Pledges must be turned in by Nov. 9 to the chamber. Checks can be made payable to Morrison Chamber of Commerce.

The festival is completely funded by donations from residents, corporate sponsors, and businesses.

The Christmas parade will be at 6 p.m. Dec. 7. Parade entries are due by Nov. 26. A $100 prize will be awarded in best use of theme, best entry by a business, best entry by a community group, best decorated vehicle, and most spirited entry. No Santa entries will be accepted.

Tabletop artificial Christmas trees, 2-feet tall, can be decorated for an auction, with part of the proceeds going to help with replacement of banners on Main Street. The trees will be provided by the chamber. The cost is $10.

Completed forms are due by Friday. The trees will be displayed Nov. 25 through Dec. 7.

The walk advertising deadline for any clubs, churches, or other groups planning activities during Dec. 6 and 7 is Friday.

For all forms, go to the chamber’s website at www.morrisonchamber.com. Completed forms can be mailed or dropped off at 221 W. Main St., P.O. Box 8, Morrison, IL 61270. Or send to morrisonchamber@frontiernet.net by email.
