'Arsenic' coming to Sandwich theater

SANDWICH – Indian Valley Theatre will present the dark comedy "Arsenic and Old Lace" at 7 p.m. Oct. 18 and 19, and 2 p.m. Oct. 20, at Sandwich Opera House, 140 E. Railroad St.

The play was written in 1939 by Joseph Kesselring. The elderly Brewster sisters are celebrated by their town, but they are poisoning gentleman boarders with arsenic-laced homemade wine. The sisters' nephew Mortimer discovers his aunts' activities, and things become more complicated.
