Banks leads Fillies past Prophets

Milledgeville volleyball beats South Beloit’ Erie girls golf earns win

Adrienne Banks had seven kills while teammates Lakin Goodman and Payton Kennedy had five apiece to lead Morrison to a 25-8, 25-23 Three Rivers North win over Prophetstown at Morrison.

Kennedy also contributed a team-high eight digs. Liz Green (12 assists, 5 digs) and Brooke Ryan (11 assists, 5 digs) were also key performers for the Fillies.

Katie Fringer and Karlie Stafford had five kills apiece for Prophetstown (5-12, 3-5). Fringer also had 11 assists.

Milledgeville def. South Beloit 25-11, 25-21: Emily Geison put down nine kills while Kayleigh Leddy added six and Kendra Schave five in the Missiles' NUIC East win.

Haley McAuliffe contributed 12 assists and Kailee Forbes seven for Milledgeville.

Durand def. AFC 25-15, 28-26: Emily Mairs collected seven kills and five blocks but the Raiders fell to the Bulldogs in NUIC East action.

Lexie Fore contributed six kills for AFC (8-10-1, 3-5), while Cassidy Koning (7) and Krista Beach (6) combined for 13 digs.

Dakota def. Polo 25-6, 25-8: The Marcos managed just 14 points against the unbeaten Indians (30-0) in an NUIC East matchup at Dakota.

Paige Peterson had three kills and Morgan Lawler four assists for Polo.

Faith Christian def. Rockford Fire 25-20, 25-18: Sarah Smith had 13 kills, 13 digs and two aces for the Falcons in a road victory over the Fire.Also for Faith (28-1), Stacia Hamill had 16 set assists and three digs, and Tressa Schuler added 23 digs and 14 kills.

Girls tennis

Sycamore 3, Dixon 2: The Duchesses won a pair of doubles matches in a NIB 12 crossover loss to visiting Sycamore on Monday at the Emma Hubbs Tennis Courts.

Hayley Kent and Jessica Van Oosten won a 6-4, 6-1 decision at No. 1 doubles, while Joan Bratt and Rachel Turffs took a 0-6, 7-5, 6-3 match from Maddie Pawola and Sonal Patel.

Girls golf

Erie 215, Mercer County 240: Katlyn Weber shot a 51 to earn medalist honors and led the Cardinals to the win at Lake Erie Country Club.

Erie's other scoring rounds included a 53 from Lexi Floming, a 54 from Lindsey Tempelmann and a 57 from Morgan Newton.
