Church pantry thankful for food donations

Published: Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013 1:15 a.m. CST

Trinity United Methodist Pantry would like to thank Mike Papoccia and his helpers for coordinating the high school food drive and the students who picked up the many pounds of food given by the generous people of the Sterling and Rock Falls area.

We are overwhelmed with the support that has come through during this time when the economy is down. Our pantry at Trinity United Methodist, like all the other pantries in the area, continues to see more people in need of help.

We are very grateful that we are able to help, but only with the support of the people in the Sauk Valley area.

May God bless you and, again, our humble thanks.

Note to readers: Joe Fornero is the chairman of Trinity Outreach.

Rock Falls is considering a ban on leaf burning. Should the city finally take that step?
Yes. Sterling and Dixon have had bans for years. It’s time for Rock Falls to impose a ban.
No. It would be too great a burden for homeowners to dispose of fallen leaves in other ways.
