New York Yankees player Alex Rodriguez has sued Major League Baseball and Commissioner Bud Selig, accusing them of improperly gathering evidence to destroy his reputation and career.
Rodriguez, suspended for 211 games by Major League Baseball for doping, claims MLB interfered with his contracts and business relationships.
Pujols suing Clark over comments
Los Angeles Angels first baseman Albert Pujols is suing former St. Louis
Cardinals slugger Jack Clark for accusing him of using steroids.
The St. Louis Post-
Dispatch reported that Pujols filed the lawsuit Friday in St. Louis County seeking unspecified damages and asking Clark to admit that his statements were false.
Clark said during his radio show on WGNU on Aug. 2 that he knew “for a fact” that Pujols used steroids. Clark and co-host Kevin Slaten were fired the next day.
Kidd suspended for two games
Brooklyn Nets coach Jason Kidd was suspended for two games for pleading guilty to driving while ability impaired, the NBA announced Friday.
He will miss the Nets’ opener Oct. 30 at the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Nov. 1 game against the Miami Heat.
Kidd pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor drunken driving charge on July 16. He was arrested in Long Island on July 15, 2012, when he crashed his

Manuel out for at least 2 weeks
Buffalo Bills rookie quarterback E.J. Manuel has a sprained lateral collateral ligament in his right knee that will not require surgery, but will sideline him at least 2 weeks and potentially longer, coach Doug Marrone said Friday.
Manuel was injured in the third quarter of Buffalo’s 37-24 loss at Cleveland on Thursday, when he was hit by Browns safety Tashaun Gipson at the end of a 14-yard run.
