DIXON – Test drives to help defray costs of the Dixon Fire Department’s child safety house will take place Friday and Saturday at Ken Nelson Auto Group, 1100 N. Galena Ave.

The public can drive Chevrolet vehicles from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. There is no cost for drivers to participate, but they must be 18 and older with a valid driver’s license.

For each drive, Ken Nelson will donate $20 to help defray costs for the safety house, which is used to help teach children about fire safety.

Each person who completes a test drive will receive a free T-shirt. The goal is 150 test drives.

Call Ken Nelson at 815-288-5388, Dixon Fire Department at 815-288-3323, or Dixon Rural Fire at 815-284-6897 for more information.
