DIXON – Mark Moran of Iola Wis., an author and antiques appraiser who has appeared on “Antiques Roadshow,” will attend an appraisal program Oct. 26 at Dixon Public Library, 221 S. Hennepin Ave.

The event will be from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Admission is free to watch appraisals. There is a $15 fee to have an item appraised, and registration is required at the library.

Refreshments will be served.

Items eligible for appraisal include fine art, furniture, ceramics, glassware, vintage photographs, advertising, folk art, assorted toys, metalware, clocks, and costume jewelry.

Items excluded are all weapons, including swords and knives, although folding knives with advertising will be accepted; coins and paper money, Beanie Babies, and fine jewelry, including precious gems, and watches.

Opinions of value are informal, and may not be used for insurance or charitable donations, which require a certified appraisal.

Any questions about items not mentioned may be submitted to Moran in advance at moranm1953@gmail.com or by calling 715-281-5060.

Call the library at 815-284-7261 for other questions.
