Mainstream media deserves plenty of blame

Some time ago, I wrote about the biased media. Since the media has such power to shape public opinion, they’re largely responsible for the problems in our society.

Your paper clearly has a liberal bias on the Opinion page; political cartoons were clear evidence. Even though you denied it, you’ve proved the case. Last month’s cartoons (last 20, 11 neutral, 9 liberal, 0 conservative views) and coverage of the “government shutdown” have demonstrated it.

Facts regarding Obamacare: polls show the public clearly doesn’t want it; it’s going to cost much more than we were told (remember, “we had to pass it to see what was in it”); doctors leaving their profession; employers realizing that to survive, they must cut workers’ hours to avoid having to comply with it; and many employers aren’t hiring because of it.

Add to that the incredible debt our nation is piling up, and how some in government say “we don’t have a spending problem, but a revenue problem.” Given the facts, you’d think not implementing Obamacare is a no brainer. Or at least you would be adult enough to be willing to negotiate or compromise. Not this president or the Democratic leaders of the Senate.

If you’re an unbiased media, you’d think thorough, equal-time coverage of the good points made by those who want to implement another solution and stop the skyrocketing national debt would be a no brainer. But not if you can’t admit you were wrong about something – or if your view of the foundations of our democratic republic are inaccurate.

I grieve for our kids, and the calamity we’re leaving them in. There’s plenty of blame to spread around, but the liberal mainstream media, from whom the vast majority of people receive their information, including this paper, have a huge part of it.
