Loss of trees lessens horse trail’s beauty

Published: Friday, Oct. 4, 2013 1:15 a.m. CDT

The other day, I was on the horse trail in Dixon, and I saw that there aren’t a lot of trees because of the new football field they built there. The animals that live in the trees are losing their homes.

Why is expanding football more important than protecting our environment?

We also have hockey and soccer, and they aren’t as important. Because of football, the horse trail is no longer a horse trail –  it is just a road for people to drive on to get to a football game.

Because of what is happening to the horse trail, the horses need to find a new place to ride.
