Jobs available for area youth

The Business Employment Skills Team. which serves eight counties, including Bureau, Carroll, Lee, Ogle, and Whiteside, was awarded a $240,000 grant from the state to assist youth in finding employment.

The grant allows for 75 youth, ages 16 to 24 to be employed with various businesses across the service area. Fifty-five youth have found employment at parks, hotels, nursing homes, day cares, nonprofit agencies, grocery stores, other retail outlets, and schools.

Go to www.illinoisworknet.org to apply for employment or call 815-288-1260 to find the nearest office. Youth also will receive instruction in work readiness skills while being employed.
