STERLING – Thomas L. Hall Sr., 69, of Tampico, died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, at his home in Tampico.

Tom was born on Feb. 5, 1944, in Sterling. He retired from IBEW Local 196 in Batavia as an operator. He was united in marriage to Karen Miller on Oct. 5, 1994, in Las Vegas. Tom collected antique cars, showed and judged English springer spaniels, and enjoyed his many exotic animals, his auctions, and many fish expos.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Hall of Tampico; two sons, Rod (Kim) Walker of Hooppole, Tom (Jennifer) Hall Jr. of Dixon; four daughters, Rhonda Reed of Prophetstown, Vicki Elder of Tampico, Wendy (David) Johns of Tampico, Amy (TJ) Klockenga of Erie; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; his mother, Terry (George) Blackert of Prophetstown; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; one brother, John Hall; and an infant daughter, Michelle.

Cremation rites were accorded. A time of sharing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Garland Funeral Home in Tampico. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Rev. Les Funderberg, pastor of First Open Bible Church in Rock Falls, officiating. Burial will be in Tampico Memorial Cemetery.
