PHOENIX – Janice Susan Baker, 61, of Phoenix, formerly of Dixon, died Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013, at Hospice of the Valley, Thunderbird Palliative Care Unit in Glendale, Ariz.. She was a nurse’s assistant at various health care centers in Dixon and Phoenix.

Janice was born Oct. 16, 1951, in Dixon, the daughter of Claire John and Helen Marie (Taylor) Baker. She married Joe Phillippi on Feb. 16, 1983. Janice attended Dixon Church of the Brethren.

Survivors include one son, Christopher Baker of Dixon; two daughters, Sara (Chris) Stites and Angela Phillippi, both of Arizona; two sisters, Debra Baker and Julie Schlegel, both of Colorado; and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one sister, Kathy Hereford; and one brother-in-law, Tom Schlegel.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m., Saturday at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, Dixon, with the Rev. John Kalebaugh, pastor of the Refuge Church, Amboy, officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded.

A memorial has been established.
