Pauline M. Jecklin

POLO – Pauline M. Jecklin, 101, of Polo, passed away Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013, at her home. Pauline was a homemaker.

Pauline was born Nov. 14, 1911, in Hudson, Iowa, the daughter of John and Gertrude (Stoner) Cunningham. She was united in marriage to Conrad Jecklin on Oct. 1, 1933, in Princeton. He preceded her in death in 1996.

She was very devoted to her friends at the Polo Senior Center and her church. She loved playing 42, a dominoes game, and gardening was a passion. 

Survivors include her brother, Robert Cunningham of Mount Morris; her sister, Lora Lein of Wisconsin; grandchildren, Ilene (Chuck) Cain of Dixon, Mike (Angela) Hecathorn of Polo, Janet Kleinert of Lincoln, Neb., and Rick Huyett of Dixon; great-grandchildren, Jen, Matt, Travis, Jacob, Linsey, Ryan, Tiffany, Lashalle, Kaylee, and James; and great-great-grandsons, Miley, Brian, Lucas and Antonio.

She also was preceded in death by her daughter, Joyce Huyett; sisters, Ruth Maxey, Marian Clark, and Doris Slankard; and brothers, John Cunningham and Willis Cunningham.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday and the funeral at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Polo, with the Rev.Terri Wilder, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery in Polo. Polo Family Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Memorials have been established to St. Mark Lutheran Church in Polo and the Polo Senior Center.
