STERLING — A Sterling man who police say sold prescription pills to an informant was in Whiteside County Jail on Thursday on $30,000 bond.

Brian Lopez, 48, is charged with two counts of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, which carries 3 to 5 years in prison.

Lopez sold two types of prescription pills Tuesday at a home in the 400 block of East Fourth Street, Sterling Police Detective Ryan Brownell said. Lopez was arrested Wednesday.

He has felony convictions for criminal damage to property in 1994, aggravated DUI and driving while his license was revoked in 2001, and domestic battery in 2008, all in Whiteside County.
