Frances Donohue

MENDOTA – Frances Donohue, 94, of Mendota, died Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, at Willow Crest Nursing Pavilion in Sandwich.

She was born Oct. 2, 1917, in White Pigeon, Mich., to S.W. and Louise (Oaks) Naylor. She married J. Corbus Hoffman in November 1938. He preceded her in death in 1964. She later married Peter J. Donohue on Nov. 18, 1972. He preceded her in death in February 2007. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Mendota.

Survivors include one daughter, Diane (Norman) Schlesinger of Plano; one son, John (Sandra) Hoffman of Raleigh, N.C.; one stepdaughter, Carol (Jeff) Horan of Goodyear, Ariz.; one stepson, Eugene (Jeanette) Donohue of Sarasota, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by two brothers.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday and the service at 11 a.m. Friday at Merritt Funeral Home in Mendota, with the Rev. Jeff Schlesinger officiating. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Dixon.

Memorials may be made to Macular Degeneration Research in Clarksburg, Md.
