DIXON – A hearing has been moved to Nov. 1 on the admissibility of text messages as evidence in the murder trial of a Dixon man accused of strangling his wife.

Police say that Brian Sigler, 34, admitted killing his wife, Yolanda Sigler, in their home Jan. 12 before stabbing himself repeatedly with a knife. He was found bleeding in their upstairs bathroom.

Charged with first-degree murder, Sigler remained in Lee County Jail on Wednesday on $2 million bond.
