ROCK FALLS – Juanita V. Pillars, 89, of Rock Falls, died Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, at her home.

She was born Aug. 10, 1924, in Willowton, W.Va., the daughter of Charles Burman and Emma Mae (Melvin) Thomas. She married Clevie Harrison Pillars on April 25, 1946, in Radford, Va. He preceded her in death on April 19, 2003. She was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church in Rock Falls.

Survivors include two daughters, Sara McCoy of Rock Falls and June McCartney of Dixon; her son, Ronnie (Connie) Pillars of Rock Falls; her sisters, Norma Wilson of Sterling and Thelma Thomas of Princeton, W.Va.; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Billy Pillars; her children, Glenda Joyce and Richard Pillars, both in infancy; and four sisters, her two half sisters, three brothers, and her half brother.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Thursday and the funeral at 11 a.m. Thursday at Maranatha Baptist Church in Rock Falls, with the Rev. Cal Reynolds, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Coloma Township Cemetery in Rock Falls. McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls is handling arrangements.

A memorial has been established to Maranatha Baptist Church.
