Mary Alice Oswalt and Anne Vits won singles matches to lead the Newman tennis team to a 3-2 victory at Freeport on Monday.
Rachel Heiderscheit and Chantel Ordean claimed a win at No. 2 doubles for Newman (3-3).
Rockets take second: Jessica Stickel shared medalist honors as Rock Falls (223) went against Sandwich (217) and Hinckley-Big Rock (233) at Edgebrook Golf Course in Sandwich.
Stickel and Sandwich’s Ashley Guilinger each had 12-over-par 48s.
Oregon 219, Genoa-Kingston 243: Abi Scheidecker earned medalist honors with a 46, while Ali Scheidecker added a 49 as the Hawks beat the Cogs at the Oak Club of Genoa.
Prophets take second: Abbey Baker had a 63 as Prophetstown (262) finished ahead of Rock Island (265) and behind Rockridge (217) at Highland Springs in Rock Island.
The medalist was Rockridge’s Jillian Stone with a 50.
Princeton def. Fulton 25-22, 25-20: Rachael Beiermann had seven assists, four kills, four digs, four points and two blocks for the Steamers in a loss to the Tigers.
Also for Fulton (1-4), Chelsea Lesniewski had four kills, Olivia Edfors had nine assists and Averi Leitzen added seven digs.
Milledgeville def. AFC 25-21, 25-10: Emily Geison racked up 10 kills to lead the Missiles past the Raiders in Ashton.
Also for Milledgeville, Haley McAuliffe had 11 assists, five aces and two digs, while Kailee Forbes had five assists, two aces and two digs.
For AFC (5-3, 1-1 NUIC Upstate), Lexie Fore had six kills and two aces, Emily Mairs had four kills and two blocks, and Katie Sondgeroth added eight assists.
Aquin def. Polo 25-10, 25-12: Kenzie Dusing had 10 assists and four kills for the Marcos in the road loss to the Bulldogs.
