Downtown movie theater is a great asset

Published: Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013 1:15 a.m. CST

I am so thrilled to see Sterling’s downtown theater restored to its original beauty. It is the focal point for downtown – especially when the outside lights are on.

Thank you, Mayor Lee and the Sterling City Council, who revealed perspicacious wisdom in awarding financial assistance so we could enjoy our theater again.

My wife and I watched a show on Sept. 15. We were not tortured by deafening commercials for upcoming movies. The sound level and quality of the music accompanying the film was majestic. Best of all, the employees were appreciative of us and gave us great service.

I write this to ask Sterling residents to go see a movie. You will have a happy experience. We need to patronize our beautifully restored Sterling Theater as well as other downtown merchants.

Good work, Sterling Council. Thanks to you, we have our theater back, better and more beautiful than before.
