Published: Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013 1:15 a.m. CDT

Are you searching for a better understanding of the situation in Syria and the confusing Near East region? If so, your wish may be solved.

Paul Edleman, professor of foreign relations, American government and speech at Sauk Valley Community College, will lead a discussion concerning the complexity of the situation in Syria at 7 p.m. Monday at the Wesley United Methodist Church, 2200 16th Ave., Sterling.

Edleman not only has studied the region in depth, but has also lived in the Middle East for extensive periods of time.

This informative event is being sponsored by the Rock River Peace Group and the Rock River Open Forum, and is open to the public free of charge. Refreshments will be provided. We hope to see you there.
