PROPHETSTOWN – Masons will have a "Rockin' on the Rock" family fun day for area firefighters from 2 to 10 p.m. Saturday at Prophetstown State Park, at Park Avenue and Riverside Drive.

The event will honor firefighters for combating the July 15 fire that destroyed eight downtown buildings. Admission is by donation, with proceeds going to area fire departments.

Local caterer Tom Lewis is making pulled pork and baked beans for 500. Fire department members and their families eat for free; donations will be taken from everyone else.

There also will be a bags tournament; music by local band Reflex Blues Yesterdaze Gone, Meredosia Road, Paul and Kelly, DnA, and New Shoes; and bounce houses, games and other children's activities.

Registration for the tourney begins at 1 p.m. and play starts at 2:30 p.m. The fee is $20 for a two-person team, 60 teams total. Cash prizes will be $200 for first place, $100 for second place, and $75 for third place.

Folks can bring their own beer, but hard liquor is not permitted inside the park.
