DIXON – Sheree Lynn Morris, 57, of Dixon, was lifted into Heaven on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013, from Serenity Hospice & Home in Oregon, after a very courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was called home in the presence of her husband and children.
Sheree was born June 28, 1956, in Pasadena, Texas, the daughter of Raymond and Jean (Palmer) Pleskovitch. She married Gary Morris on Aug. 30, 1980, in Eldena.
Sheree worked at Shopko in Dixon for 13 years and then owned and operated The UPS Store in Dixon for 5 years. She retired 2 years ago to spend time with family, as that was of utmost importance to her. Sheree overflowed with generosity, touching so many lives, always thinking of others before her-self.
Survivors include her husband; four sons, Matthew Morris and Ryan Morris, both of Dixon, Vincent (Katie Grossman) Morris of Peoria, and Cory (Taylor) Morris of Farmville, Va.; her mother, Jean Pleskovitch of Dixon; two brothers, Ed (Peg) Pleskovitch and Steve Pleskovitch, both of Rock Falls; five sisters, Paula (Rich) Tarter of Dixon, Rhonda (Mike) Simmons of Rock Falls, Sandy Pleskovitch-Miller and Theresa (Dean) O’Neil, both of Dixon, and Colleen (Andy) Jackson of Sterling; one sister-in-law, Patricia Morris of Petaluma, Calif; and two grandsons, Gavin Lee Morris and Ethan Zane Morris.
She was preceded in death by her father; and one brother-in-law, Randy Miller.
Private funeral services will be at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home at a later date. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon. There will be no visitation. There will be a Celebration of Life at 2 p.m. Sunday at Lee County 4-H Center, 1196 Franklin Road in Amboy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to Amboy Fire Department Memorial Fund and Serenity Hospice.
