United to fly nonstop to Edinburgh from Chicago

CHICAGO (AP) — Starting next summer travelers will be able to fly nonstop from Chicago to Edinburgh, Scotland.

United Airlines announced Thursday it will begin operating summer seasonal service between the two cities from its hub at O'Hare International Airport on May 22.

It will be the first scheduled nonstop service between the cities. The flights will operate between May 22 and Oct. 5.

United will use the Boeing 757-200, an aircraft with 169 seats, including flat-bed seats in United BusinessFirst.

The airline has opened 11 new routes from Chicago since the beginning of 2013.
