Marilyn J. Mulford

STERLING – Marilyn J. Mulford, 84, of Sterling, died Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, at Coventry Living Center in Sterling.

Marilyn was born Feb. 6, 1929, the daughter of Emery and Irma (Mall) Erbes in Franklin Grove. She married Lawrence R. “Larry” Mulford on April 8, 1952, in Ashton. He preceded her in death on July 28, 2012. Marilyn worked at Frantz Garage Door Co. in the office. She enjoyed sewing, furnishing homes, and traveling alongside her beloved husband.

Survivors include her sister, Norma Bales of Dixon; several nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

She also was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling, with the Rev. Thomas Bales of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Amboy officiating.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Christ Lutheran School in Sterling.
