ROCK FALLS – Donna Delores Jensen, 71, of Rock Falls, died Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at her home. She worked at Honeywell Sperry as a technician in Phoenix, retiring in 1990. She then worked at Tri-County Opportunities Council, retiring in 2004.

Donna was born Jan. 14, 1942, in Dixon, the daughter of Donald and Betty (Siperly) Dimmig. She married Lars Jensen on Dec. 24, 1990, in Dixon.

Donna loved her grandchildren, first and foremost. She enjoyed going to auctions, bird-watching, and working in her flower garden.

Survivors include her husband, Lars Jensen of Rock Falls; four children, Jeff (Jane) Boyer of Pocatello, Idaho, Sandra (James) Checkalski of Barron, Wis., Jennifer (Roy) Smith of Dixon, and Russell W.L. Jensen of Sterling; three brothers, Dennis Dimmig of Sterling, Allen (Lynn) Dimmig of Glendale, Ariz., and Michael (Caryl) Dimmig of Walnut; five sisters, Tresa Long of Oregon, and Renee (John Waters) Murphy, Lana (David) Ackert, Marsha (Stan) Quaco, and Debbie (Dave Considine) Whites, all of Dixon; and seven grandchildren, David Solie, Jerry and Mitchell Checkalski, all of Barron, Shelby Boyer of Pocatello, and Uriah, Logan, and Heather Smith, all of Dixon. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Donald R. Boyer, in infancy; three brothers, Jerry Dimmig, Danny Joe Dimmig, and Donald Dimmig Jr., and one brother-in-law, Ken Long.

There will be no visitation. Burial of cremains will be at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 21 at Grand Detour Cemetery, with the Rev. John Kalebaugh, pastor of The Refuge Church in Amboy, officiating. Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon is handling arrangements.

A memorial has been established.
