BELLEVILLE (AP) — A southwestern Illinois man who authorities say was driving drunk when he was involved in a wreck is in more legal trouble. Authorities say investigators found him in possession of methamphetamine during his arrest.

The Belleville News-Democrat (http://bit.ly/13QJC7K) reports prosecutors in St. Clair County have charged 31-year-old James Weis of Waterloo with felony possession of methamphetamine.

The newspaper says the June wreck near Millstadt injured both drivers. Weis was charged with felony aggravated DUI this week after lab tests finally came back.

While processing Weis at the jail Monday, sheriff's Lt. Scott Weymouth says the man was found to be carrying methamphetamine.

Weis is jailed in lieu of $160,000 bond.

Online court records don't show whether he has an attorney. Weis does not have a listed home telephone number.
