DIXON – Marilyn Ruth Russell, 81, of Dixon, died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at her home. She was a beautician, and worked for Mr. Kurtis for 40 years before retiring.

Marilyn was born Aug. 4, 1932, in Dixon, the daughter of Alexander and Elizabeth (Budde) Carrey. She married Ronald Stanley Russell on Sept. 25, 1948, in Dixon. He preceded her in death on May 3, 2013. Marilyn was an avid bowler. She belonged to the Lost Nation Ladies Golf League for many years, and enjoyed spending winters in Florida.

Survivors include one son, Richard (Janet) Russell of Dixon; one daughter, Carolyn (Bruce) Graham of Belvidere; one sister-in-law, Faye Merriman of Dixon; five grandchildren, Sheri Breitzka of Roscoe, Roger Cannon Jr. of Rolling Meadows, Erick Russell of Madison, Wis., and Scott (Katy) Russell and Stephanie Russell, both of Dixon; one great-grandson, Connor Russell of Dixon; six nephews; and two nieces.

She also was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Carry.

There will be no services. Private burial of cremated remains will be at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon. Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon is handling arrangements.

A memorial has been established.
