Lawrence A. 'Lorney' Neyrinck

ERIE – Lawrence A. “Lorney” Neyrinck, 80, of Erie, died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, in Silvis. He was a brickmason for 65 years.

Lorney was born Oct. 27, 1932, in Moline, the son of Andre and Mabel (Schurvinski) Neyrinck. He served in the Navy Reserves and was a member of the Seabees Battalion. Lorney married Muriel Jacobs on Nov. 21, 1953, at St. John Church in Rapids City. She preceded him in death in September 2011. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Erie.

Survivors include his children, Toni Drilling of Tampico, Dawn (Arlyn) Meier of Prophetstown, Cindy (Dick) DeSmith of Atkinson, Marty (Cindy) Neyrinck of Dixon, and Andy (Debbie) Neyrinck of Bettendorf, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; brother, Richard (Lovenia) Neyrinck of Port Byron; and sister, Sharan (Robert) Norin of Apache Junction, Ariz.

He also was preceded in death by his parents; and son-in-law, Terry Drilling.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Gibson-Bode Funeral Home in Erie. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Erie. Burial will be at Erie Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Foundation.
