ChiliFest features food, live music

DIXON – The eighth annual ChiliFest, a benefit for Second Saturdays Art Happenings, will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Sept. 21 at Distinctive Gardens, 2020 Lowell Park Road.

In addition to the chili cookoff, there will be music by Rosbrook Studio Co-op musicians, artwork by Tim Drane and a hot dog stand.

Cooks are asked to register in advance, but there is no cost to participate. Chili tasting begins at 5 p.m. and awards will be given at 8 p.m. The feast is picnic style: Bring your own cooler, chair, or blanket.

The music lineup: 5 p.m., Kent Anders; 5:30 p.m., Kelly Collinson and Al Repass; 6:30 p.m., Dynoride; 7 p.m., The Defeated Royals; 8 p.m., The Shadow of The Sun. 

Second Saturdays is a free monthly cultural event in downtown Dixon in which businesses and organizations host a variety of free art happenings – visual art, musical performances, theatrical skits, and more – from 6 to 8 p.m.
