Bernadine M. Yaklich

PROPHETSTOWN – Bernadine M. Yaklich, 87, of Prophetstown, died Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, at Prophets Good Samaritan Center in Prophetstown.

Bernadine was born Dec. 26, 1925, in Herrick, the daughter of Earl and Viva (Musser) Moore. She married Frank Yaklich on May 31, 1944, in LaSalle. He preceded her in death on Oct. 13, 2002. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Tampico.

Survivors include three daughters, Mary (Rod) Ollas of Spokane, Wash., Patricia Earl of Lincoln, and Donna (Doug) Matlock of Bloomington; four sons, Frank (Kathy) Yaklich of Rock Falls, Robert (Kim) Yaklich of Tampico, David (Judy) Yaklich of Rock Falls, and Mike (Melodee) Yaklich of Kewanee; 24 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and six brothers, LeRoy, Larry, and Denney, all of Amboy, Earl of Milledgeville, Norman of Brighton, Colo., and Less of Ilwaco, Wash.

She also was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Garland Funeral Home in Tampico. A prayer service will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Tampico, with the Rev. Zdzislaw Francis Wawryszuk, pastor of St. Catherine Catholic Church in Prophetstown, officiating.

A memorial has been established.
