Parade, coronations and dance

The annual Twin Cities Fiesta Parade will start at noon Saturday at First Avenue and 10th Street in Rock Falls, cross the First Avenue bridge into Sterling, turn east onto Fourth Street and end at the intersection of Fourth Street and Fourth Avenue.

Also,The Latin American Social Club, 2708 W. Fourth in Sterling, will hold a Fiesta queen coronation and dance from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Folkloric Dancers from the Quad Cities will perfrom from 4 to 5 p.m., and Chicago-area band Los Pericos will play that evening. Food will be sold from 3 to 6 p.m.

Ice cream and old cars

MORRISON – The Morrison Historical Society's second annual ice cream social and antique car show runs from 3 to 6 p.m Saturday at the Heritage Museum, 202 E. Lincolnway,

Members of the Double-I Antique AutoClub will display vehicles, homemade ice cream will be made utilizing a "hit and miss" John Deere engine, and Jim Seeley Jr. of Tampico will perform. Fresh fruit pies, barbecue and beverages will be available.

Second Saturdays in Dixon

DIXON – Second Saturdays Art Happenings, featuring art, music and other cultural events, returns to various venues, mostly from 6 to 8 p.m. downtown, between First and Second streets and Peoria and Galena avenues.

Back by popular demand, Rosbrook Studio is presenting a Second Saturday Music Jam from 6 to 10 p.m. – in the street! The music co-op will provide a sound stage and seating in the 100 block of South Peoria Ave. Several members will perform, and other musicians can come a bit early to sign up for a slot, or can send message on the Rosbrook Facebook page.

A moving tribute

PROPHETSTOWN – The Illinois Patriot Guard Fallen Heroes Traveling Memorial Wall will be in Prophetstown from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the corner of Main and West Third streets.

The wall pays tribute to Illinois military members who gave their lives in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation New Dawn.

There will be a brief presentation on America's participation in WWII, Korea and Vietnam, and Prophetstown American Legion Post 522 will hold a POW/MIA ceremony at 9 a.m. across the street at the Legion Hall, 214 Washington St.

Tractor pull in Sublette

SUBLETTE – Pullin' in the Park, an annual tractor and truck pull, begins at 11 a.m. Sunday at Sublette Centennial Park on West Street.

Registration begins at 8 a.m.; pullers must live within a 30-mile radius of Sublette. Entries are $20 per truck or tractor.

There also will be free kids' games, including a kids pedal pull, and concessions will be sold.
