DIXON – A final pretrial conference for a Dixon man accused of causing the death of his 3-month-old daughter was rescheduled Thursday.

Charles T. George, 35, is expected to either make a plea deal or schedule a trial date at the Sept. 26 hearing.

He is charged with two counts of aggravated battery of a child, aggravated domestic battery, and involuntary manslaughter. Police say in September 2010 he shook his daughter, Tamari, before dropping her to the ground. She died 5 days later at a Rockford hospital.

George is in Lee County Jail on $1 million bond.
