Car show, big band concert Saturday in Sublette

Ted Fredenhagen and his Class Act II Big Band will put on a show at 7 p.m. in the Sublette Community Building, after the annual car show.

SUBLETTE – Unique cars will be on display from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday along U.S. Route 52, across from Vaessen Brothers Chevrolet and near the BP station.

The annual show features Kaiser-Frazer, Willys-Overland, Hudson and Nash automobiles. There’s also a special Chevrolet exhibit this year.

Owners of all makes of collector cars, trucks and motorcycles are invited to participate.

There is no registration fee and no judging. Donations will be accepted for The Salvation Army.

Food will be available, 3-D Sound will do the announcing and play music throughout the day, and there will be a 50/50 drawing and door prizes.

Afterward, Ted Fredenhagen and his Class Act II Big Band will put on a concert at 7 p.m. in the Sublette Community Building. Proceeds help pay for the building’s upkeep.

Tickets are $10 at Farmers State Bank in Sublette, the Illinois Fire Store in Amboy, Sports ’n Stuff in Mendota and at the door.
