Carol Marie Boynton

DIXON – Carol Marie Boynton, 90, of Dixon, died Friday, Aug. 30, 2013, at Heritage Square in Dixon.

She was born Oct. 25, 1922, in Oak Park, the daughter of the Rev. Frank and Myrtle (Hansel) Schroer. She married Wilbert “Wib” Boynton on Aug. 13, 1949, in Pearl City. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Dixon. Prior to her retirement, she was a school teacher for Dixon Public Schools for many years.

Survivors include her husband; one son, Dennis (Marla) Boynton, of Dixon; one daughter, Susan (William) Reyelts, of New Lenox; three brothers, Franklin Schroer, of Cordova, Tenn., Phillip (Rebecca) Schroer, of Rockford, David (Beth) Schroer, of Homer, Alaska; one sister, Mary Bowman, of Grand Rapids, Mich.; a sister-in-law, Marie Schroer, of Henderson, N.C.; four grandchildren, Amy (Derek) Ring, Glen (Amanda) Reyelts, Jonathan Boynton and Kristin Boynton; and five great-grandchildren, with one more due in November.

Carol was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Schroer; one sister-in-law, Elsie Schroer; and one brother-in-law, Gordon Bowman.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Grace United Methodist Church in Dixon, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Marilyn Nolan officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial of cremains will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon following the service.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
