High school football roundup: Storm bedevils Hall

Tucker Schoff rushed 16 times for 157 yards and two touchdowns to lead Bureau Valley to a 42-21 victory over Hall in a Three Rivers crossover game on Saturday in Manlius.

Parker Neuhalfen also had a big game for the Storm (1-0). He completed 5 of 6 passes for 136 yards and one touchdown, and also rushed 14 times for 83 yards and three scores.

Bureau Valley scored twice in the opening 4 minutes of play, only to have Hall respond with two TDs of its own later in the first quarter to get within 16-13.

The Storm seized control with three second-quarter scores, on a pair of short runs by Neuhalfen and one from Schoff.

Schoff capped off the BV scoring with a 46-yard run in the third quarter.

Jacob Bycznski had 15 carries for 129 yards one one TD for Hall.

Fulton 42, Orion 20: Ethan Jones ran for four touchdowns and passed for a fifth to lead the Steamers to a victory over the visiting Chargers.

Jones had TD runs of 54, 40, 30 and 11 yards, and also hooked up with Bryce Holesinger on a 53-yard scoring strike. Devin Kuehl accounted for Fulton's final score on a 53-yard run in the fourth quarter.

EPC 65, West Carroll 6: Donny Groezinger had seven carries for 105 yards and three touchdowns as the Wildcatz routed the Thunder in an NUIC Northwest game in Lanark.

Ramsay Truckenmiller had five carries for 82 yards and one TD, while Eric Shaney added 11 attempts for 65 yards and one TD. Deven Herren completed 7 of 10 passes for 81 yards, with TD passes to Groezinger and Schaney.

EPC also stood out on special teams as Cody Kluck scored on a pair of 75-yard punt returns.

Brandon Sturtevant had a 61-yard TD run for West Carroll.

Aquin 34, AFC 14: The Bulldogs passing attack proved to be too much for the Raiders in a NUIC Upstate loss at Mel Barron Field.

Aquin (1-0, 1-0) was led by quarterback Aiden Chang, who completed 18 passes for 218 yards and two touchdowns. He connected with Anthony Townsend for touchdown scores of 33 and 5 yards.

The Raiders trailed only 14-7 aft half thanks to a 10-yard touchdown run by Bret Gittleson with 3:09 left in the second quarter.

The Bulldogs scored two touchdowns in third quarter. Chang and Townsend connect for the second tim with 8:01 left and then Dean Sopcic scored on a 1-yard plunge.

Jake Chapman had the Raiders only other score on a 1-yard run with 3:28 left. Chapman had 62 rushing yards to lead AFC (0-1, 0-1). Troy Mairs had 55 receiving yards.
