DIXON – A Lee County Court judge is set to rule later this month on whether certain text messages will be allowed as evidence in the murder trial of a Dixon man accused of strangling his wife on Jan. 13.
Police have said Brian Sigler, 34, admitted killing Yolanda Sigler in their Dixon home before trying to kill himself with a knife. He was found bleeding in their upstairs bathroom tub.
Sigler, charged with first-degree murder, is in Lee County Jail on $2 million bond.
The hearing will be held Sept. 18.
