Computer-based GED testing to start

GRAND DETOUR – The state’s GED testing program will switch over to a computer-based test effective Jan. 1.

The Lee-Ogle Regional Office of Education staff will continue to provide the paper-based test until Nov. 16. The cost is $50. If the complete battery of tests is not passed by Nov. 16, the tester will have to start over with the new test and fees.

The cost will be $120.

To register, contact Denise Davilo at ddavilo@leeogle.org or 815-652-2054, ext. 234.

Registrants can sign up in person from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays at the testing center at Sauk Valley Community College, 173 state Route 2, Dixon. Call the center at 815-835-6373, or Davilo for more information.
