Published: Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013 1:15 a.m. CST

DIXON – Sauk Valley Community College will educate people about the dangers and consequences of texting while driving.

Students and members of the community are challenged to find out how well they can text and drive, using a simulator, from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the east mall entrance at Sauk, 173 state Route 2.

Those taking part will sit in a car while the simulator provides messages to text as it navigates them through computer-simulated road conditions, such as rain and snow.

For more information, call Ana Salgado, student activities coordinator, at 815-835-6432.
