PERU (AP) — A doctor in the north-central Illinois city of Peru faces multiple drug charges after a raid on his practice.

The News-Tribune in LaSalle reports (http://bit.ly/1dksJYr) a judge set bond at $1 million Tuesday for 62-year-old Constantino Perales. He was taken into custody Monday after police, FBI agents and Drug Enforcement Administration officers raided his office.

Illinois regulators suspended Perales' medical license Monday, citing details from an investigation into his alleged drug deals and sexual activity with at least two male patients.

Documents filed by the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation allege Perales prescribed painkillers and other drugs to patients knowing they would sell them illegally and split the money with him. He also allegedly traded sex for drug prescriptions.

A phone message left for Perales' attorney wasn't immediately returned.
