Longtime quilter to give lecture

DIXON – Petunia City Quilters will meet Sept. 9.

Donna Slater of The Feathered Nest in Loves Park will give a workshop from 1 to 4 p.m. and lecture at 7 p.m. at Loveland Community House, 513 W. Second. St. 

The subject will be “The Three Rs: Recycle, Reclaim, Remember.” Quilters will learn how to creatively reuse shirts, ties, and other clothing. 

During the workshop, men’s shirts will be used to create quilts. The cost is $16 for members and $21 for guests. Registration is required.

Slater’s lecture will feature a trunk show of items made with reused fabrics. Guests are welcome for $5.
