Eddie Sue Blanchard

OREGON – Eddie Sue Blanchard, 70, of Oregon, passed away Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013, at SwedishAmerican Hospital in Rockford. She was a homemaker. Eddie Sue loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much.

She was born April 21, 1943, in Walnut Ridge, Ark., the daughter of Lavell J. and Mary C. (Christian) Rushing. She was united in marriage to Charles A. Blanchard on June 28, 1958, in Rockford.

Survivors include her husband, Charles; mother, Mary Rushing; daughters, Charlotte (Roger) Kevern of Winnebago and Bonnie Hitchcock and Carrie Dempiewolf, both of Oregon; son, Robert Blanchard of Oregon; brother, Ronnie (Serena) Rushing, and brother-in-law, Johnny Watson, both of Texas; grandchildren, Merle (Amanda) Prascak, Tony Hillman, John (Niki Goodwin) Hitchcock, and Kimberly Kevern; and great-grandchildren Zoe Prascak, Jenna Klenz, and Olivia Hitchcock.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lavell; sister, Wanda Watson; son, David, in infancy; and son-in-law, Jim Hillman.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Polo Family Funeral Home. A graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Plainview Cemetery in Mount Morris.
