Dixon Police seek information in gas station theft

Police say cigarettes stolen

DIXON – Dixon Police are seeking information about the theft of a carton of cigarettes on July 29 from Marathon gas station, 315 W. Everett St.

Police said in a news release that store surveillance video shows a carton of Pall Mall Menthol Black cigarettes, worth $47.24, being taken by a white man who appears to be in his late 20s and is "of a stockier build" with a shaved head, wearing dark pants and a dark, striped shirt.

The man left without paying and got into a white, older-model sedan – possibly a Mercury – with Illinois license plates, the release said.
