Tichler paces Rockets to win

Andrew Tichler paced a balanced lineup with a 5-over-par 39 to lead the Rock Falls boys golf team to a 162-179 victory against Fulton on Tuesday at Rock River Golf and Pool.

Also for the Rockets, Matt Long had 40, Cooper Kilberg had 41 and Carrigan Chouinard added 42.

The medalist was Fulton's Matt Dail with a 38.

Oregon fifth in Sandwich: Taylor Brubaker finished with an 85 to lead Oregon to fifth place in the 14-team Sandwich Indian Invitational at Edgebrook Golf Course.

The Hawks had a 349 team total, behind Aurora Central Catholic (321), Richmond-Burton (326), Ottawa (339) and Aurora Christian (344).

Rounding out the Oregon lineup were Carson Buck (87), Ben Gardner (88) and Mitchell Nehrkorn (89).

The medalist was Richmond-Burton's Jordan Hahn with a 3-under-par 69.

Morrison 177, Polo 193: Brock Smith carded a 6-over-par 42 to lead the Mustangs past the Marcos at Edgewood Golf Course.

Sawyer Frano and Radamacher each had 48s to pace Polo.

AFC's Graye Freeman also competed and had a 45.

Prophetstown 219, Mid-County 234: Jackson Ames' 48 led the Prophets to victory in their first dual of the season.

Jackson Westen (52) and Grant Ames (56) added scores in the 50s on the par-36 Deer Valley Country Club.

Cougars second at home: Devin Hartman and Logan Lessman each had 43s as Eastland (187) finished behind Stockton (172) and ahead of West Carroll (202) at Lake Carroll Golf Course.

Sean Keckler and Keegan Randecker each had 48s for West Carroll. Stockton's Trey Timpe was medalist with a 2-over-par 38.

Girls golf

Prophetstown 272, Mid-County 278: Abbey Baker led the Prophets with a 62 in posting a season-opening victory at Deer Valley Country Club.
