Group plans concert after football game

Group meets again tonight

DIXON – Project GenNex is preparing for its next event.

The group committed to bringing a youth center or skate park to Dixon will host a “Fifth Quarter” concert on Sept. 13 after a Dixon High School home football game.

The event will feature teenage bands and the group is recruiting food vendors, organizer Steve Wilson said.

About 100 people attended a concert July 19 in Page Park that featured five teenage bands.

Project GenNex also plans to sell T-shirts to promote its organization and its mission to establish a youth center in Dixon.

About nine new youth members showed up at the last meeting, Wilson said. The group hopes to soon establish a teen board that will help with coming up with ideas and setting goals.

The group’s next meeting is 7 tonight at Loveland Community House & Museum, 513 W. Second St.
