Mark Twain Day set for Sept. 14

OREGON – Oregon Rotary Club’s 17th annual Mark Twain Day will be from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Sept. 14 at Maxson Riverboat and Restaurant, 1469 state Route 2 North.

All proceeds will benefit the Rotarians’ Keeping Kids Warm project, to provide coats, boots, and snow pants for children in the Oregon School District.

A Mark Twain impersonator will attend the meal.

The menu will feature an onsite pig roast, with homemade pie and ice cream.

Music will be provided by the BackRoads Trio on the deck, and Dirt Simple on the paddle boat.

Mark Twain books will be given away, and a 50/50 drawing will take place.

Tickets are $30 for adults and $15 for children 6 to 12.

There is no cost for children 5 and younger.

The price includes riverboat rides, food, beverages, and music.

There will be limited tickets available at the door.
