DIXON – Someone’s getting iced at The Brandywine.

We know the date: Nov. 1. Who, and by whom, is not yet known.

The Ronald Reagan Boyhood Home is planning its first mystery dinner fundraiser.

The evening begins with cocktails at 6, followed by dinner at 7. It’s a Mystery Quad Cities, a comedy troupe, is providing the entertainment.

“I have no idea who the victim will be,” Brandi Langner, executive director of the Reagan Home, said in a news release. “The group changes things from one performance to the next.”

“Whacked at Da Wedding” is the theme.

There is strife in “da family” as Gina Gelatto and Rico Manicotti prepare to tie the knot. Secrets abound as details of this whodunit unravel. Guests are encouraged to interact with the actors as they become familiar with their background stories and personalities and ultimately solve the case.

“Some murder mystery theater is serious,” said Langner, who has attended one of the troupe’s performances. “This is an exceptionally funny production. I predict tickets will go fast once people learn more about this event and the troupe.”

The evening also will include live and silent auctions and a dinner buffet.

The show has adult-themed content that may be inappropriate for young children.

Tickets are available at the Reagan Home, 816 S. Hennepin Ave. They are $45 through Sept. 15 and $50 thereafter. Table sponsorships are $400, and include eight tickets and recognition in the program and on a poster at the door.

Businesses that want to donate auction items, display a poster or sell tickets should call Langner at 815-288-5176. Those who serve as a ticket location will be listed on the Reagan Home website and mentioned as an outlet in advertising.

Go to www.reaganhome.org or call Langner for more information on the event. Search Facebook for “It’s a Mystery” or go to www.itsamysteryqc.com for more information on the troupe.
