STERLING – Sterling Police Detective Michael Henry was placed on restricted, in-house duty Tuesday in the wake of his arrest Saturday on a misdemeanor battery charge.
Police say an off-duty Henry, 29, got into a fight with a 28-year-old Rock Falls man at Johnny’s Bar and Grill around 11 p.m.
The 28-year-old, who was not charged, was treated at CGH Medical Center for a cut on the back of his head, State Police Master Sgt. Dave Blough said.
State Police are handling the investigation to avoid any conflict of interest.
Henry was taken to Whiteside County Jail, processed and released. He has a court appearance Sept. 20.
